This site was created to help visitors learn more about the services that are provided to students and to keep families up-to-date on current classroom lesson topics and other news.

 

 

Highland Elementary School Counseling vision statement

Highland Scotties realize their value and worth, appreciate diversity, can make self-directed and responsible decisions, effectively display empathy, are resilient through long and short-term challenges and possess the intrinsic motivation to contribute to their community. All students from Highland Elementary possess the academic skills to be lifelong learners, the social-emotional skills to build meaningful relationships, and are excited to enter careers that contribute to their community.

Highland Elementary School Counseling mission statement

The mission of the Highland Elementary school counseling program is to empower students to achieve their full potential through the acquisition of academic, social, emotional, and career-readiness skills. The school counselor advocates for equitable access to a comprehensive school counseling program where all students feel safe, cared for and supported. By leveraging partnerships with teachers, administrators, and parents, students will experience success as responsible lifelong learners who are culturally aware and productive members of society. The school counseling program supports the overall missions of both Billings Public Schools and Highland Elementary.

Attention 5th Grade Parents: Talent Search is visiting Highland!​

​

You are invited to attend a presentation by TRIO/Talent Search to learn about an exciting program that provides students with services during their middle and high school years to prepare for college.

 

This program is free of charge!

Opportunities such as:

* tutoring

* career exploration workshops

* community service projects

​

And as a high school student: ACT/SAT test prep classes, college tours and trips, financial aid/scholarship/college application assistance, etc.

 

Please plan to attend the presentation on Monday, April 29th (in Highland’s gym) from 6:30-7:30 pm when representatives will share information about the program and distribute applications.
